Our Story
Our journey began a few years back. I’m Kenneth Moore, the mind behind the WynnShield™. With a keen awareness of bacteria in my surroundings, I’ve always been a frequent hand washer, constantly seeking ways to rid harmful bacteria from my devices. Over the past decade, I’ve worked extensively in hospital operating rooms, where I noticed the pervasive use of mobile devices. Despite their widespread presence, there was no adequate standard procedure to protect these devices from the growth of product damaging bacteria in healthcare settings. It became clear that a crucial element was missing: a means to cover and safeguard mobile devices from product damaging bacteria.
Doctors and nurses are resorting to makeshift solutions like ziplock bags, but these lacked good functionality and continuous microbial product protection. Thus, the concept of WynnShield™ was born. From homes to hospitals and everywhere in between, the need for a more effective and streamlined solution was evident.
I envisioned creating a disposable, easy to clean surface that could seamlessly wrap around mobile devices adhering to itself while preserving device functionality and leaving no residue upon removal—an ambitious endeavor, but one we pursued nonetheless. The WynnShield™ protective wrap, infused with antimicrobial technology powered by Microban®, emerged as the solution. It serves as a temporary surface for mobile devices, effectively inhibiting product damaging bacterial growth by up to 99.9% on its surface, ensuring continuous microbial reduction throughout the lifespan of the wrap. Antimicrobial Continuous Protection
The WynnShield™ offers continuous antimicrobial protection. Its embedded Microban® technology actively fights bacteria on the surface of the WynnShield™ for its lifespan, providing ongoing product protection even between cleanings.
Convenience
While phone bags and ziploc bags may provide a physical barrier against contamination, they require regular replacement and can be cumbersome to use. The WynnShield™
- One Size fits most
- Bags without antimicrobial protection do not provide any continuous defense. Essentially, users are carrying around their dirty mobile devices in dirty plastic bags.
- Cleaning your device the wrong way can strip away protective coatings on your screen and do more harm than good. For example, paper towels can scratch your screen, vinegar can damage its coating.
- Cleaning with alcohol or chemical wipes are horrible for mobile device screens and can permanently damage them.
UV Light Wands Negatives
- According to the FDA, some UV wand products can emit up to 3,000 times more uv-c radiation than the recommended exposure limit when used from a distance of about two inches. Exposure to these devices can cause skin injuries like erythema, or burn-like reactions, and eye injuries like photokeratitis, which can cause severe pain and feeling of having sand in the eyes.
UV Light Boxes
- UV light does kill bacteria, but it works only by line of sight, affecting only areas the light can reach. It will not be effective for the cracks and crevices between the phone and case. Cycles for each side of your phone may be necessary, which means more time.
- UV light boxes will not physically remove things off your device like filth. They work by irradiating the bacteria.
